Tangle & Splash — Where Watercolor Meets Zentangle!

What happens when you combine the free-flowing fun of watercolor with the mindful magic of Zentangle®? You get Tangle & Splash! 🎨✨

We had such a wonderful time at From the dART Wellness Center experimenting with watercolor, color, and tangles. There was something especially fun about watching splashes of color transform into colorful backgrounds for structured, creative patterns.

To get things started, I prepared several small watercolor Bijou Zentangle® tiles and bookmarks ahead of time, giving everyone a colorful surface ready for tangling. We also created our own watercolor backgrounds on larger Zentangle tiles, using a MEEDEN Travel Water Color Set to splash, blend, and play with color.

Once the watercolor was dry, it was time to add the tangles! We explored how simple lines, curves, and dots can come together to create beautiful, intricate patterns using the Zentangle® Method. Watching each person build their design one stroke at a time was such a joy.

And the finished pieces? A wonderful collection of colorful, unique artwork—each one a little different and completely personal.

Color + tangles + creativity = a whole lot of fun! 

I think we can safely say that watercolor and Zentangle® make a pretty fantastic pair!
