My Zentangle journey...
Share
This where my Zentangle journey began a little over two years ago…at the gigantic Hoosier Hills Food Bank 5-day used book sale in Bloomington, IN, with a little book I picked up there on a whim to give to my niece.
Long story short, my niece never got the book (sorry, not sorry!).
I gave it a try and I was instantly hooked. I fell in love with the little fun tangles and the possibilities — even though I had ZERO artistic talent!
A few months later I trained to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT).
Discovering Zentangle changed everything—it has opened a new door to calm and creativity that I never expected.
I used to think creativity skipped me entirely. My career in science was all stress and spreadsheets.
This has helped me realize that while stress might be part of life, it doesn’t have to run it. Zentangle helped me connect with the simple joy in creating—with no pressure, no perfection, and no need to find extra hours in the day.
Just a few minutes a day is all it takes to create beautiful patterns that calm the mind, spark creativity, and bring a sense of peace. That’s what drew me to Zentangle and it’s why I now love sharing this relaxing and fun practice with others.
You don’t need any art experience at all—if you can write your name, you can do this! Just bring your curiosity and let the Zentangle Method guide you.
I love teaching others this really easy and relaxing art and I would love to have you join me for a class either in-person on online if you haven't already.
And, if a class is not your thing, there are lots of other options. I offer DIY mini-kits each Friday, and there are many resources through Zentangle, Inc.
Happy Tangling!
Kris
